Junior Bs - The Bs quest for the double is still alive after they narrowly overcame Scotstown 0-08 to 0-06 in a league semi final on Tuesday night last. On a chilly evening there was little to choose between the teams and they were level several times over the hour. Scotstown opened the scoring before Gary Ward and Brendan McElroy (f) edged Blayney in front, the lead however was short-lived and Scotstown were soon level. Blayney were indebted to goalkeeper Pauric McNally for an excellent save just before half time and another McElroy free completed the first half scoring. Three early Scotstown points in the second half were countered by a McElroy free to leave Scotstown one ahead as the game entered it final quarter. Gary Ward tied up the game with a good score from play and the teams then exchanged points, Blayneys coming from Niall Duffy to leave all to play for as the game entered its last five minutes. Another McElroy free saw Blayney regain the lead and when Niall Duffy pointed there was clear daylight between the teams for the first time and Blayney held on to reach the final.
