The Cs opened their league season with a well merited 4-09 to 1-07 win over Rockcorry yesterday. Winning the league in 2011 means they are operating at a higher level this season but the signs are good that they will be able to make the step up. It was the veteran of the team Ray McArdle who opened the scoring in the 1st minute followed by further scores from David McMahon and Pauric Greene. David Callan then found the net on his return from a long injury lay-off to give Blayney a comfortable half-time lead. It was in the 2nd period that Blayney really found their shooting boots and goals from McMahon, Greene and Fergal Duffy stretched the lead.
