The Cs flattered to deceive on Sunday when they went down by 4-10 to 0-11 against Inniskeen. Blayney had three points on the board in the opening exchanges, the scores coming from Niall Dignam and Fintan Finnegan (2 frees) before Inniskeen settled with a point. Further scores from Sean McGeough and Fergal Duffy extended the lead but with a quick 1-1 from Inniskeen brought them back level. Inniskeen were now in the ascendancy and it was the free taking of Fintan Finnegan that kept Blayney in touch however a second Inniskeen goal on the stroke of half-time saw them go 4 in front. Two more Inniskeen goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half ended the game as a contest and although Blayney responded with a Finnegan goal from the penalty spot there was no comeback.
