Seniors - Our opening league game with Doohamlet has been postponed to a later date because of some players involvement with the county hurlers.
Junior C - The Cs continued their good form with a comfortable win over Oram on Saturday evening last. Excellent point taking was again the order of the day from a youthful fifteen as they racked up a hugely impressive tally of 1-18 to go with the 1-17 they amassed in the first game.
U21 - This weekend sees the beginning of another competition when the U21 side travel to Scotstown for a 5PM throw-in.
Over 35s - Well done to our over 35s who accounted for Oram in a very sporting game on St Patrick Day.
Running/walking track – With the Faughs return to St Marys Park the newly constructed running/walking track around the field is now fully operational. The track is open to ALL the local community and we urge everyone to come along and enjoy this facility. For insurance purposes anyone who uses the track must become a full or social member of the club (cost is €20 for the year, contact 087-9146441 for more details), those who pay the annual Cairde subscription are already covered. Please note that the track isn’t suitable for use during training and matches so please avoid during these times, happy walking.
Cairde – Our Cairde scheme is now in full swing, the scheme was set in place to allow our members to contribute to the St Marys Park development. 2012 saw the completion of stage one with the laying of a new playing pitch and this month sees the contractors moving in to build our new stand. In the coming months we will be contacting all participants as their 2013 subscription becomes due and we would like to thank everybody for their continued support. The scheme is also still open for new members and further information can be obtained from club treasurer Bob O’Donnell (087-6025027), any committee member or from www.castleblayneyfaughs.com.

Best on the day for the Faughs were, James Mc Adam, Gearoid Coyle and Joseph Hughes. The Under 12 Development team took to the field directly after the senior team and put in an impressive performance, some late scores saw the young Faughs pull away from a strong Carrick team. Best on the Day for the development team were Oran Mc Ardle, Sennan O Brien and Fionn Kelly. Next up for the young Faughs teams will be an away game versus Donaghmoyne on March 30th,throw in to be confirmed.
Club Membership Night - Last Thursday evening saw the Club hold their inaugural membership night in the Convent hall in Our Lady's Secondary School, this is an new initiative designed by the club to allow members to renew their Club Membership and the Club Cairde Scheme. The evening also provides the Club members the opportunity pose questions to the Senior Executive on any aspects of the Club, from teams to fixtures to queries on the Club Development .The evening was a great success with large numbers attending over the evening. The success of the evening has no doubt made this an annual date for all our diaries.
Club Development - After many years of hard work by the current and past members of the Development Committee the Club have now started the next phase of the Club Development. The days of getting wet at matches in St Mary's Park are coming to an end as the Contractors get ready to start the construction of the new Stand .In an effort to make sure that everybody entering St Mary's Park is safe, could we ask that all patrons pay strict attention to the signage around the grounds.
